Eventing

Equipment:

Bit: The metal is a mouth piece on the bridle, to which the reins are attached.

Blinkers: The flaps on a bridle which stops a horse from seeing backwards or sideways.        

Cup: An attachment to the wing of a jump, which holds the rail position.

Breeches: Trouser worn specifically.

Gate: A vertical fence made with planks, balustrade, gates or other items to present a solid           

Obstacle.

Hunting stock: A board band worn around a rider’s neck.

Obstacle: In show jumping and the three-day event an object a horse must clear to                                           

Complete the course, such as a fence, gate or water jump.

 

History of Equestrian Eventing

You probably think that army men and women do pull ups and sit ups but did you know they train by eventing. Eventing is a big part in training all of history eventing was there do you want to learn the history of it. Eventing is a very challenging sport with jumps and obstacles . It is a sport witch you have to show control and give discipline to horse.It is a complex and combined competition. you probably need to start with lessons.

 

Rules:

The rules are you need to get over jumps without knocking over poles and stay on the course.

 

 

 

Jumping

 

History: Jumping developed after fences were put up in the English countryside, leading foxhunters to require horses that could jump. The (FEI) was founded in 1921.

 

Equipment: What you need to do this sport is: Bit, Blinkers, Breeches, Bridle, Cup, Fence, Gate, Hunting Stock, Obstacle, Oxer, Parallel oxer, Rail, Saddle, Safety Cup, Spread, Spur, Vertical Fence, Water jump, Whip

 

Important stuff: This is how you play the sport. You are timed on the sport. You have to jump over 10-13 gates, poles, and fences. You have to finish 60 seconds. If you knock one of the poles down it is a penalty. One person on one horse.
